Coldstream secures $6.97M for sewer project to protect Kalamalka Lake

July 30 2926 COLDSTREAM, B.C. - The District of Coldstream is receiving more than $6.97 million in federal infrastructure funding to connect over 110 properties currently on septic systems to a new sanitary sewer network.
The money comes through the Build Communities Strong Fund (BCSF) Community stream, also known as the Strategic Priorities Fund.
Officials say the project will cut nutrient runoff into Kalamalka Lake, a key drinking-water source for North Okanagan communities.
It will also remove long-standing barriers to residential development on lots that previously lacked sewer access, helping ease British Columbia’s housing shortage.
The announcement was made July 30, 2026.
