November 25 2025 - Buzz is spreading quickly after SilverStar Mountain Resort confirmed it has been sold to Pacific Group Resorts (PGR), a U.S.–based company that operates several mid-sized ski areas across North America, including Jay Peak in Vermont and Powderhorn Mountain Resort in Colorado.

In Canada, PGR already owns Mount Washington Alpine Resort on Vancouver Island, making SilverStar its second British Columbia property.

The sale was announced on November 25, 2025. SilverStar, located northeast of Vernon, is one of Canada’s largest ski areas with more than 130 runs and over 3,000 acres of terrain.

SilverStar Mountain may be the largest resort in PGR’s portfolio.

The ownership transfer is effective immediately.

According to statements from resort leadership and PGR, no operational changes are planned for the 2025–26 season.

The current SilverStar management team will remain in place, and all passes, programs, and services will continue as usual.

PGR says it intends to maintain SilverStar’s character and community focus while integrating the resort into its broader network.
