Busy 24 Hours on Vernon Roads

December 26 2025 - Emergency crews have had a busy 24 hours across the North Okanagan following snowfall that began on Christmas Day.

The local snowfall has stopped but it seems the accidents have not.

Around 2 PM Boxing days a cluster of crashes on Highway 97 locally known as “Dump Hill,” just south of Vernon, caused lengthy slowdowns for northbound traffic.

Video from the scene shows long lines of vehicles moving slowly past the crash sites.

The cause of the collisions has not been confirmed, but police and emergency responders responded to multiple reports of vehicle crashes on the hill in a short period of time.
