A body, presumed to be that of a Vernon man missing since his fishing boat was overwhelmed by a sudden storm on Okanagan Lake has been recovered.
Travis Van Hills' fish boat was capsized by the wind storm while the experienced fisherman was night fishing for shrimp, July 24, 2023.
The RCMP underwater recovery team assisted in the recovery of the 55-year-olds body late afternoon August 17.

The July 24th storm took the lives of two men. That evening on nearby Kalamalka Lake kayaker Eli Buruca was also overcome by the storm.
Burucas body was recovered on August 16th by the RCMP water recovery team.
