BC Wildfire, Lake Country Firefighters Quickly Control K40856 Fire

July 15, 2026 – A rapid response by BC Wildfire Service and local firefighters quickly brought a small wildfire under control near Lake Country on Wednesday evening.

The fire, designated K40856, was discovered on July 15 and was held to approximately 0.009 hectares.

Once again fast response by fire crews control a small wildfire before it becomes a serious threat

Witnesses at the scene reported that one helicopter was deployed to assist ground crews.

Firefighters from the Lake Country Fire Department also responded to the incident.

The combined aerial and ground response helped stop the fire before it could spread, and the wildfire was quickly classified as under control.

The incident marks the second wildfire reported in the Lake Country area since Sunday, highlighting the continued elevated fire danger.

The quick response by BC Wildfire Service and local firefighters helped keep the fire small despite dry conditions.
