Another Crash at Meadowlark and Highway 97 in Vernon

July 17, 2025: Emergency crews responded to yet another collision at the intersection of Meadowlark Road and Highway 97 in the north end of Vernon.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday, reports began coming in about a two-vehicle crash at the location. BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue, BC Ambulance Service, and the RCMP all attended the scene.

Emergency crews responded to yet another collision at the intersection of Meadowlark Road and Highway 97 in the north end of Vernon.

Traffic Was Backed Up For Kilometres

Northbound traffic on Highway 97 was initially reduced to one lane before all northbound vehicles were diverted to allow emergency crews to manage the crash.

According to ICBC statistics, there have been 22 crashes at this intersection between 2020 and 2024. Eight of those collisions involved injuries.

There is no official word yet on the cause of Thursday’s crash or whether anyone was injured.
