Anderson Creek Wildfire Status

July 23 2026 - The Anderson Creek wildfire (discovered July 21 south of Boston Bar beside Highway 1) remains out of control and is part of the larger Brunswick Complex.
The fire exhibited aggressive behaviour with rapid upslope spread, growing significantly overnight from an estimated ~1,000 hectares (as of late July 21) to ~4,333 hectares (43.3 sq km) by Wednesday evening.
As of July 22 2026:
Continued aggressive crown fire activity into the night. As of recent assessments, the fire is 500–800 metres from structures in Boston Bar. Extreme fire behaviour expected due to hot, dry, windy conditions; direct ground attack was unsafe in places.
Evacuation orders remain in effect for Boston Bar area (including Boston Bar First Nation lands), North Bend, Canyon Alpine, Hells Gate properties, and Scuzzy Creek Forest Service Road. An evacuation alert is in place for the area south of Hells Gate to Alexandra Bridge. Spuzzum First Nation issued an alert for its reserve lands.
Travel in the Fraser Canyon is heavily impacted.
Support for evacuees: Evacuee Reception Centre operational at McArthur Island Sports Centre in Kamloops.
Broader complex, Anderson Creek joins the ongoing Brunswick Creek (V10742) and Ainslie Creek (V10755) fires. Evacuation orders across the complex (including other areas like Nahatlatch, North Boothroyd, etc.) remain active. FVRD EOC provided an update on the evening of July 22 confirming the situation and ongoing orders.
No major new containment gains or downgrades reported in the last 24 hours, focus remains on structure protection, monitoring extreme behaviour, and supporting evacuees.
