Woman Arrested After Alleged Arson at Vernon’s Kin Beach

August 11 2026 - A 35-year-old Vernon woman remains in custody after police allege she set fire to a newspaper box at Kin Beach.
According to the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, officers responded around 2:45 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, to a report of possible arson at the beach on Tronson Road.
Witnesses reported seeing a woman ignite a newspaper box and then walk away.
An RCMP Police Dog Service team that was already in the area quickly located a woman matching the description.
She was arrested without incident.
The Vernon North RCMP are asking with information to contact the detachment at 250-545-7171.
