Witches traded broomsticks for SUP boards at Kal Beach today

October 25 2025 - Coldstream’s Kalamalka Lake was alive with Halloween spirit Saturday afternoon.

Dozens of paddle boarders and kayakers, dressed as witches, warlocks, and other spooky characters, took part in the annual Witches & Warlocks Paddle.

The popular community event launched from Kal Beach at noon Saturday. All were welcome. Families, friends, and even a few costumed pets for a festive float on the lake.

No official word how many witches took part in todays event.

Participants were encouraged to decorate their boards and kayaks in Halloween style as organizers aimed to top last year’s count of more than 200 paddlers.

The event was hosted by SUP Okanagan, a local paddle board community with over 5,000 members.
