Voters head to the polls twice in October, and the ballots are not interchangeable.


Voting in North Okanagan

October 09 2026 - North Okanagan voters have two elections on two Saturdays. The ballots and the voting places are not the same.


Civic election, Saturday, October 17, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. :


This ballot covers mayor and council, a rural area director where one is being elected, and school trustees.


School District 22 covers Vernon, Coldstream, Lumby and RDNO Areas B, C, D and E. Armstrong, Spallumcheen, Enderby and Area F are in School District 83.


You can vote only where you live, or where you qualify as a non-resident property elector. No civic voting card is required.

Already settled: Area E director Jim Johnson was acclaimed. Lumby’s four council seats were acclaimed; the mayor’s race is still on. Coldstream’s school trustee seat has only Kelli Sullivan named.


Bring two pieces of ID. Vernon wants address and signature on them. A combined driver’s licence and Care Card counts as one piece. RDNO wants two pieces, at least one with a signature. Photo ID is not required.


Provincial election, Saturday, October 24, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.


This ballot is only for MLA. A civic poll cannot be used. Advance voting is October 16–21, at any advance place in B.C. Not every site is open every day.

Vernon is in Vernon-Lumby, Coldstream in Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream, and Armstrong and Enderby in Salmon Arm-Shuswap.


The Where to Vote card is not required. One government photo ID with your name and address is enough. Otherwise bring two pieces that show your name, at least one with your address. The card can be one of those two.
