February 14 2026 - The 66th Annual Vernon Winter Carnival is winding down, with fireworks lighting up the sky over Kal Beach Saturday night to cap off another full day of festivities.

Day 9 of the 10-day celebration featured Family Fun Park activities at Kal Beach in Coldstream, where families gathered throughout the afternoon and evening for hot chocolate, face painting and games.

As the sun set, crowds lined the shoreline for a fireworks display that reflected off the calm waters of Kalamalka Lake.

Earlier in the day, the 10th annual Polar Bear Market and Swim took place at Paddlewheel Park, drawing participants and spectators as part of the long-running winter tradition.

The carnival, which began February 6, has brought 10 days of events, community gatherings and winter-themed celebrations to Vernon and the surrounding area.

The final event of this year’s carnival takes place Sunday, February 15, with the Apres Ski Party at SilverStar Mountain Resort. Organizers say the alpine celebration will serve as the grand finale, featuring music, dancing and mountain-side festivities.

With one last day to go, the 66th annual Vernon Winter Carnival will soon wrap up, until next year.
