Tree falls on Two Cars

Vernon BC October 9, 2025 - A tree came crashing down in a south Vernon neighbourhood Thursday afternoon, hitting not one, but two parked cars.

Witnesses say the tree fell without warning

“There was no wind at all,” said one resident. “Just a loud cracking sound, and down it came.” That was just before 2:30 p.m.

Fortunately, no one was in the parking lot at the time.

The tree, described as a “decent size,” could have caused serious injuries or worse.

It’s unknown how much damage the vehicles sustained. According to neighbours, the owners were not home when it happened.

“Someone’s going to get a nasty surprise today,” one witness said.
