SUV Crashes Through Fence in Vernon Back Lane

January 3 2026 - A single-vehicle crash in Vernon sent an SUV through a fence and over a short retaining wall Saturday afternoon.



The crash happened just after 12 p.m. on January 3 in the 3800 block of 30th Avenue.


According to unconfirmed information, the vehicle failed to negotiate a 90-degree turn on a snow-covered back lane, crashing through a fence and taking out some hedging before coming to rest.


The SUV reportedly stopped only mere feet from a sidewalk in the outdoor common space of an apartment complex. Fortunately, no one is believed to have been on the sidewalk when the crash occurred.


No injuries were reported


The condition and location of the driver are not known at this time. Vernon RCMP, Vernon Fire Rescue Services, and BC Ambulance responded to the scene.
