August 31 2026 - REVELSTOKE, B.C. : A serious vehicle incident has shut down Highway 1 in both directions west of Revelstoke, with emergency crews treating multiple patients Monday morning.

The crash occurred shortly after 9 a.m. Ground crews are on scene, and an air ambulance has been dispatched to help with patient transport.

Unconfirmed reports indicate at least one person may be trapped.

DriveBC lists the highway as closed while an assessment is under way. No reopening time has been announced.

It's expected the closure will last at least several hours.
