RCMP Seek Public's Help in Vernon Shooting Investigation

Vernon, B.C., April 19, 2025: Police are appealing to the public for help as they continue investigating a shooting in Vernon that left one person injured earlier this week.
According to the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, the shooting occurred shortly before noon on Wednesday, April 16, inside a residence in the 4000-block of 25th Street.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found one person injured at the scene.
In a news release, RCMP said two suspects, believed to be male, were seen fleeing the area on foot.
One was reportedly wearing a red sweater, a blue puffy vest, and had shoulder-length curly hair. The other was said to be dressed in a white hooded sweater. Witnesses also reported seeing an older beige Toyota Sienna van in the area, occupied by two individuals who were reportedly wearing hockey masks.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area of 25th and 27th Streets between 11 a.m. and noon on April 16 to come forward if they saw anything suspicious or anyone matching those descriptions. Motorists with dash cams and local residents are also being urged to check for any potentially relevant video footage.
At this point, several key questions remain unanswered. Police have not said whether the shooting was targeted, whether the victim and suspects knew each other, or what the current condition of the victim is.
