ENDERBY, B.C. May 15, 2025: A high school in Enderby was evacuated and dismissed early on Wednesday afternoon after an unspecified threat prompted a police response and lockdown procedures.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on May 14, the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report of a potential threat made toward the school. Officers responded immediately, working with school staff to ensure student safety. As a precaution, the school was closed early and students were transferred to an alternate pickup site.

In a statement released Thursday morning, RCMP confirmed that no credible evidence was found to support the threat.
“A complete and thorough investigation has been conducted and at this point, no credible evidence has been found that would substantiate the threat,” said Const. Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. “Any potential risk to the safety of our schools is treated with the highest of priority and we want to thank everyone for their assistance and co-operation.”
No arrests have been made and the source of the threat remains under investigation.
Wednesday’s incident marks at least the fourth time since last spring that a school in the region has reportedly undergone lockdown or evacuation procedures due to threats or suspicious activity.
