Vernon April 11 2026 - Power to a trailer park in the 6000 block of Okanagan Avenue in Vernon was cut yesterday afternoon (April 10 2026) following a safety order issued by Technical Safety BC.

The April 10 order to disconnect power follows earlier action related to the site.
The order is tied to alleged non-compliance under the Safety Standards Act. A separate administrative penalty of $36,000 has also been issued, with payment required within 14 days.
The loss of electricity has also impacted water service at the park.
Some residents, including those with medical needs or young children, have chosen to leave, while others say they plan to stay for now.
