Polson Park Fire Quickly Contained

No Official Cause What Sparked the Blaze

Vernon Fire Rescue Service on Polson Drive

Vernon October 9 2025 - Vernon Fire Rescue responded to reports of trees burning in a wooded area of Polson Park around 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening.

Witnesses reported seeing a large column of smoke rising from park trees near Polson Drive and 14th Avenue.

Firefighters made their way into the dark woods on foot, carrying tools and water by hand to reach the flames.

The fire was brought under control in less than an hour.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
