Parts of Lavington and Coldstream Returning to Duteau Creek Water
October 27 2026 - Some Greater Vernon Water customers in Lavington and Coldstream will switch back from the Antwerp Deep Well to their normal Duteau Creek source starting around October 29.
The Regional District of North Okanagan made the temporary change earlier this year to conserve surface water during the drought and Stage 3 restrictions. With agricultural irrigation ending October 30 and demand dropping, the system can return to normal operations.
The well remains available as an emergency backup. RDNO says enhanced treatment during its use helped reduce some taste, odor, and appearance issues linked to higher mineral content.
According to RDNO, changes may take a couple of days to appear due to low system flows.
