Authorities received the call around 8:40 p.m., prompting a multi-agency response. The Kelowna RCMP were first to confirm that everyone involved was accounted for and no one had entered the water.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) members were on scene to assist, while the Kelowna Fire Department worked to secure and remove the damaged vessels from the area to ensure public safety.

While this incident ended without tragedy, it serves as a reminder that water activities on Okanagan Lake are not without risk.

Over the years, the lake has seen its share of boating accidents and drownings, with safety officials regularly cautioning residents and visitors to wear life jackets, avoid alcohol while boating, and remain vigilant on the busy waterway.
