New Addition To Kal Beach

Rotary Celebrates 90 Years with Final Touches on Kalamalka Lake Pier

The new pier at Kalamalka Beach is nearly complete, with just a few final touches left before the project is fully wrapped up, and those final details will carry a legacy nearly a century in the making.

To mark the 90th anniversary of the original 1934 Rotary-built pier, the Rotary Clubs of Vernon, Kalamalka, and Silver Star have come together to fund two key finishing elements:

A granite monument with a bronze plaque commemorating Rotary’s 90-year history at the site.

Accessibility mats that will improve access to the pier and beach area for people with mobility challenges.

These contributions will not only enhance the functionality of the space but also serve to honor the deep roots Rotary has in the community and at this very location.

A new sign will feature a smaller Rotary Seal alongside a bronze plaque, with text recognizing the enduring connection between Rotary and the Kalamalka Lake pier — a connection that spans nine decades.

With the pier structure now complete, installation of the mats and monument is expected soon, putting the finishing touches on a project that blends community, accessibility, and history.
