Neighbours Help Knock Down RV Fire at Swan Lake Resort

Quick action by neighbours likely prevented a much more serious outcome during an RV fire at a local trailer park Friday evening.

The fire broke out just before 7 p.m. at the Swan Lake RV Resort, located in the 8000 block of Highland Road in Vernon.

While emergency calls were being made, several residents jumped into action and managed to contain the flames using garden hoses before firefighters arrived.

Crews from the BX Swan Lake Fire Department responded with multiple trucks and remained on scene for about an hour. No injuries were reported.

The extent of damage to the RV has not yet been disclosed.

It certainly pays to have good neighbours.
