During a March 7 joint force operation north of Summerland British Columbia, officers with the BC Highway Patrol and Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement inspected nearly 60 commercial vehicles along Highway 97 British Columbia.

By the end of the operation, 11 trucks had been removed from service, meaning roughly one in five vehicles inspected were considered unsafe to continue operating. Officers also issued 37 violation tickets and ordered 41 inspections or repairs.

The enforcement effort followed a similar operation on Feb. 26 near Osoyoos British Columbia, where 36 commercial vehicles were checked. That inspection resulted in 10 tickets, 16 repair or inspection orders, and four trucks removed from service.

According to police, the joint operations target vehicles suspected of mechanical or safety issues and are aimed at improving highway safety while ensuring commercial operators follow provincial regulations.
