Lightning Storm Sweeps Through North Okanagan

June 12 2025: Over 150 Event in 1 Hour
A lightning storm moved through the North Okanagan early Thursday morning, beginning around 5 a.m. The system passed over Armstrong, Vernon, and continued east toward Cherryville.

Between 5 and 6 a.m., lightning tracking systems recorded more than 150 strikes across the region.

So far, there have been no reports of wildfires sparked by the storm.
