Highway 5 Reopens After Air Ambulance Response Near Coquihalla Summit

Traffic is once again moving on the Coquihalla Highway after a temporary closure Saturday morning for an emergency air ambulance landing.

The Coquihalla was shut down while crews cleared the scene

The northbound lanes were shut down at Exit 231 near Mine Creek Road, roughly 12 kilometres north of the Coquihalla Summit, following a vehicle incident.

BC Emergency Health Services dispatched an air ambulance to transport an injured person from the scene. The highway reopened shortly after the helicopter departed.
