Grass Fire Damages Vernon Home

VERNON April 2 2026 - An out-of-control grass fire spread to a home in Vernon on Thursday afternoon, causing damage to the residence.
The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. in the 9700 block of Delcliffe Road, near Eastside Road and Ellison Park.
Witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the roof area of the home as the grass fire reached the structure.
Fire crews from Vernon Fire Rescue responded with multiple units and quickly brought the blaze under control.
Although the fire was contained, the house sustained damage before crews could fully extinguish the flames.
No injuries were reported.
