Update: Two in Custody Following Vernon Stabbing Incident
Vernon RCMP have arrested a 41-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman in connection with an alleged assault and stabbing that occurred on March 6 in the 3400-block of Centennial Drive.
The incident began around 4:45 p.m. when a bystander intervened after witnessing a man yelling aggressively at a woman. The man, assisted by the woman, allegedly attacked the bystander, stabbing him and striking him with an object. Another person helped the victim fend off the attackers before police arrived.
Officers quickly located and arrested the suspects. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Vernon, BC – A man is recovering in hospital after being violently attacked while attempting to stop an alleged assault in Vernon on Thursday evening.
The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. in the 3400 block of Centennial Drive, behind an apartment building.
According to witnesses, the Good Samaritan intervened when he saw a woman he believed was being assaulted by a man, believed to be her partner, while the pair appeared to be scavenging in a dumpster.
However, when the bystander confronted the alleged attacker, both the man and woman turned on him, assaulting him with sharp and blunt weapons.
One witness reported that the victim sustained at least four stab wounds to his leg, torso, and hand, along with a significant head injury caused by an object resembling a hammer.
As the altercation escalated, neighbors who heard the commotion rushed to help, with one reportedly carrying a tire iron.
Outnumbered, the suspects fled the scene, leaving behind a green garbage bag containing bottles and what appeared to be crushed glass pipes.
Emergency services, including RCMP, BC Ambulance, and first responders, arrived shortly after. The injured man was transported to the hospital, though the extent of his injuries remains unknown.
Despite an extensive search, including assistance from the RCMP K9 unit, the suspects remain at large. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
