Fire Breaks Out at Vernon Morning Star Building

December 22 2025 - A fire broke out at the Vernon Morning Star building on 25th Avenue early Monday morning, December 22.

Fire Crews Worked the Fire Until Noon Monday

Vernon Fire Rescue was called to the scene shortly before 2 a.m. and found the fire at the rear of what appears to be the main building.

The stubborn blaze prompted BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue being called in under the mutual aid protocol.

Daylight Reveals Extensive Damage to Vernon Morning Star Building

While unconfirmed, the fire may have started in a dumpster and spread to the building.

RCMP and BC Ambulance Service also responded.

No injuries have been reported, and officials have not released a cause or damage assessment.
