What Happened in the Banff Rock Slide
RCMP have confirmed that one person is dead following a rock slide near Bow Glacier Falls in Banff National Park. Three others were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
The slide occurred early Thursday afternoon in a rugged area popular with hikers, approximately 50 kilometres north of Castle Mountain and the Trans-Canada Highway.

Witness Reports and Ongoing Search
Initial witness accounts described the rockfall as being approximately 30 metres wide and 10 metres deep, with multiple people believed to be in the area when it happened.

RCMP and Parks Canada say they are not yet certain if others may still be missing. Search teams worked until nightfall and are scheduled to resume operations Friday morning.
