Serious Crash Closes Westside Road Tuesday Afternoon

Vernon, B.C. : A serious collision involving a motorcycle and pickup truck closed a section of Westside Road late Tuesday afternoon, forcing drivers to detour through a nearby field.

The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on May 5, 2025. Emergency responders, including multiple ambulances, RCMP, and members of the Okanagan Indian Band Volunteer Fire Department, were quickly on scene.

A landing zone was established for a possible air ambulance, but was ultimately not used.

Video from the scene shows a motorcycle lodged under the front end of a pickup truck.

While no official details on injuries have been released, the heavy emergency response and condition of the vehicles indicate the crash was serious.

Westside Road remained closed for a time as emergency crews worked the scene.
