Highway 1 Closed Near Cache Creek Following Crash

Cache Creek January 25 2026 - Highway 1 is closed in both directions following a crash south of Cache Creek.

According to DriveBC, the closure is in effect between Cornwall Road and Airport Road for approximately 5.3 kilometres.

The crash occurred at approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, and is located about 4 to 9 kilometres south of Cache Creek. An assessment is in progress and a detour is in effect via Ashcroft using Highway 97C and Cornwall Road.

Unconfirmed reports from the scene indicate the crash involved several victims, with one person reported to be trapped.

BC Ambulance Service responded, including an air ambulance helicopter, which transported an unknown number of patients to hospital.

There are unconfirmed reports of a fatality.

The number of vehicles involved and responders is unknown at this time.
