Showers and a risk of thunderstorms are in the outlook for today, with local amounts of 10 to 15 millimetres if the rain sets in. The high is 18°C, with north winds 20 km/h gusting to 40 this afternoon.

More showers are possible this evening, then the rain is expected to ease after midnight.

Sunday looks mainly cloudy, with a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers and a high of 21°C.

Sunshine is favoured Monday and Tuesday, with highs near 25°C and 28°C.

Cloudier weather and a 60 percent chance of showers return in the midweek outlook.

As of 6:00 AM Saturday the Vernon station was 13.6°C with falling pressure and no weather alert on the local page.

The official gauge showed no measurable rain overnight, though a few drops were seen in spots. Local smoke is still mentioned in the forecast.

If this pattern holds, the weekend should feel different from the recent heat, cooler, with a better chance of rain, before temperatures rebound early next week.
