Surrey Motorcyclist Fined $1,769 After Dangerous Highway #1 Riding Caught on Video
SURREY, B.C. - A 23-year-old Surrey man has been hit with $1,769 in tickets after his motorcycle was filmed weaving through heavy traffic and speeding on Highway #1 near 176th Street on July 3.

The witness’s dashcam clearly captured the rider, motorcycle, and licence plate.
BC Highway Patrol tracked down the owner days later and issued multiple tickets, including excessive speed (over 60 km/h), unsafe lane changes, and driving without due care.
“It’s not hard to imagine how this behaviour could have easily led to the motorcyclist’s death,” said Corporal Michael McLaughlin of the BC Highway Patrol.
