Arson Suspected After Vehicles Vandalized and Set on Fire in Coldstream

March 31, 2026 - Vernon RCMP are investigating an early-morning arson after patrolling officers came across an SUV engulfed in flames.
The discovery was made approximately 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 11000-block of Kalamalka Lake Road in Coldstream.

Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP says the officers used extinguishers from their patrol vehicles to knock down the flames and prevent the fire from spreading.
The Coldstream Fire Department arrived and finished the job.
Once the scene had cooled down police discovered that a total of four vehicles had been vandalized, two of them sustaining fire damage.
“The cause of the fire has not been determined; however, evidence at the scene indicates it was intentionally set,” said Constable Chris Terleski,
RCMP are asking residents in the area who have security cameras to review their footage from between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Tuesday morning (March 31).
