Another Vehicle Fire Reported in Vernon, Fourth Since Dec. 24

January 6 2026 - Another vehicle fire was reported in the Vernon area Tuesday afternoon, continuing a recent string of similar incidents across the city.
Shortly after 4 p.m., emergency responders were called to a burning pickup truck located roadside in the 6600 block of Bella Vista Road. Vernon Fire Rescue Service crews quickly extinguished the fire.
There were no reports of injuries. Vernon North Okanagan RCMP also attended the scene.
This marks the fourth vehicle fire reported in the Vernon area since December 24.
In total, approximately nine vehicles have now been damaged or destroyed by fire in just under two weeks.
As previously reported by exnews.net, earlier incidents include a suspicious fire involving multiple vehicles at a Vernon car dealership, a pickup truck fire on Boss Creek Road, and a vehicle fire involving a Jeep on Greenhow Road.
Authorities have not released details on the cause of Tuesday’s fire, and it is not known if the incidents are connected.
