Alleged Gun-Toting Suspect Still at Large: Public Assistance Needed in Vernon Incident.


Vernon RCMP are seeking public assistance in identifying an individual involved in a concerning incident where a firearm was allegedly brandished.


On the evening of October 14th, 2023, at around 8 p.m., the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report of a firearms complaint at a business located in the 4300 block of 27th St in Vernon.

According to RCMP, the incident began inside the business when a customer engaged in a brief verbal exchange with a man who was reportedly yelling at staff.


The situation escalated as the customer left the premises, with the suspect following them to the parking lot.


Subsequently, a physical confrontation ensued, during which the suspect allegedly produced what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Video captured by a surveillance system at the business, has been released by the police to aid in the identification of the alleged perpetrator.

The unidentified adult male is described as Caucasian, in his 20s, tall and slim, sporting a brown mustache and a distinctive bowl-cut hairstyle. At the time of the incident, he was wearing light-colored shorts and a blue sweatshirt with white and red lettering on the back.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect's identity not to approach the suspect but to contact their local Police.
