Coldstream: Aberdeen Sewer Project Resumes with Road Closure Starting February 2


Coldstream, BC January 31 2026 - The District of Coldstream reminds residents and drivers that work on the Aberdeen Sewer upgrade project will resume on Monday, February 2, after the winter break.



This phase brings a full closure of Aberdeen Road to through traffic to facilitate the installation of sanitary sewer infrastructure and road improvements.


The project includes installing sanitary sewer mains from Selkirk Drive to Wiseby Drive, along with service connections to property lines, and widening Aberdeen Road for safer paved shoulders for pedestrians and cyclists.


The Construction schedule is:


  • February 2 – February 28, 2026: Construction in the vicinity of the CN Rail crossing.

  • March 1 – September 30, 2026: Installation of the sanitary sewer main beginning at Whisbey Drive and progressing north toward Venables Drive, with paving anticipated to finish by September 30.

  • October 1 – November 30, 2026: Final site restoration, cleanup, and line painting.



Aberdeen Road will be closed to through traffic from February 2 to October 1, 2026, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.


Only local access and emergency vehicles will be allowed in the construction zone.


A pedestrian and bicycle corridor will be maintained through the worksite on the west shoulder of Aberdeen Road.

The District's map illustrates the 2026 construction zone along Aberdeen Road, with closures to through traffic marked at the northern end near Venables Drive and the southern end near Wisbey Drive (local traffic only permitted). The pedestrian path is indicated along the route.
