BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue spent much of Tuesday at the Vernon Landfill on Birnie Road, south of Vernon, BC, dealing with a stubborn fire burning deep inside a large pile of garbage. An Excavator is busy digging into the pile so fire crews can attack the smoldering source of the fire. Fire crews extinguished a fire in the same location yesterday.
