July 8, 2025: A section of Aberdeen Road at Selkirk Drive in Coldstream, BC, will be closed starting July 8, 2025, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday, with possible weekend hours, due to the Aberdeen Sanitary Sewer Project.

The collision occurred just before 8:30 p.m. on Highway 97 near Round Lake Road, west of Vernon. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, including BC Ambulance, Vernon Fire Rescue Services, and the RCMP.

Carfentanil, up to 100 times more potent than fentanyl and found in concentrations up to 4%, poses a severe overdose and fatality risk. The samples often contain benzodiazepines and tranquilizers, amplifying the danger. Health officials urge users to get drugs checked at drug-checking locations via interior.drugchecking.ca and to avoid using alone.
