Security Threat Forces Evacuation at Vernon High School

Vernon, May 15, 2025 — W.L. Seaton Secondary School was evacuated Thursday after alerts of a potential security threat prompted precautionary action.

Vernon RCMP are currently investigating the situation.

The incident forced the postponement of the school's planned 75th anniversary celebration, originally scheduled for Thursday evening.

This marks the second high school evacuation in the North Okanagan in as many days. A.L. Fortune Secondary in Enderby was cleared on Wednesday following a bomb threat.

Police later reported nothing suspicious was found.
