Hotspots Persist, Smoke Visible but Contained
August 20, 2025 - The Boltres Creek wildfire (Fire Number K41552), discovered on August 17, remains under control, covering 103 hectares in the Kamloops Fire Centre.
Smoke can still be seen from within the fire’s perimeter, but being surrounded by burned material, it is typically not a concern.
However, smoke from unburned fuel or outside the perimeter should be reported immediately.
Vernon Fire Rescue has resumed command, with BC Wildfire Service support no longer needed.
Hotspots continue to flare up within the contained area. The fire, suspected to be human-caused, is under investigation.
No evacuation alerts or area restrictions are currently in place.
