Two Separate Crashes on Coquihalla Highway Near Inks Lake Keep Emergency Crews Busy

June 7 2026 - Emergency services were kept busy Sunday morning, June 7, 2026, responding to two separate motor vehicle collisions that occurred close together in both time and location on the Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5) near Inks Lake and Lac Le Jeune.

The first collision involved four patients with unconfirmed non-life-threatening injuries.
Multiple BCEHS ground ambulances responded and transported all patients to hospital.
The second crash, just north of the Inks Lake brake check in the northbound lane, involved a black GMC with up to four occupants.
At least one passenger reportedly required extrication assistance from rescue crews.
Unconfirmed reports from the 2nd accident scene indicate non-life-threatening injuries.
A Kamloops-based air ambulance helicopter was initially dispatched but was cancelled before reaching the scene after crews determined ground transport was sufficient.
Multiple BCEHS ambulances, plus RCMP responded to the dual incidents, which caused some traffic delays on the Coquihalla.
