Earlier a similar vehicle was seen leaving a Lumby crime scene trailing sparks from its rear.
Vernon, BC – March 3, 2025 – Vernon North Okanagan RCMP are investigating a series of overnight incidents involving a stolen white Ford F250, which was later found on fire.

The owner of the truck reported it stolen from the 3400 block of 16th Avenue in Vernon around 12:30 a.m. on March 2. An hour later, police responded to a break-in alarm at a business in Lumby on Industrial Ave. where suspects had gained entry before fleeing.
A white Ford pick-up was seen leaving the area westbound on Highway 6, trailing sparks from its rear.
Officers located the vehicle at College Way and Highway 97 in Vernon. When they attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, ramming a police vehicle before crashing through a fence and disappearing. Despite an extensive search, police were unable to locate the suspect.
Police Investigating Stolen Truck Found on Fire in Vernon
At approximately 3:15 a.m., police and Vernon Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle fire in the 3500 block of Centennial Drive. The stolen truck was found fully engulfed in flames.
"The fire is considered suspicious, and investigators believe these incidents are connected," said Cpl. Tania Finn, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.
