Fortunately the pilot, the lone occupant of the aircraft, did not require medical attention.
Shortly after noon Tuesday (July 25/2023) Vernon Fire Rescue responded to reports of an incident involving a small airplane at the Vernon Regional Airport.
Upon arrival emergency responders found a small plane in the grass next to the runway.
There were no injuries or fire reported but the small plane did appear to have sustained damage to its undercarriage.
The pilot refused medical attention so BC Ambulance was called off.
An exact cause for the incident has not been released at this time.
Airport operations have returned to normal.
Transportation Safety Board Regulations require an incident such as this to be reported.
