Police Investigate Suspicious Package at Polson Park

November 1, 2025 – Vernon, B.C. - Vernon RCMP cordoned off part of Polson Park late Friday night after a report of a suspicious package near the park’s skate bowl area.

The call came in around 10:45 p.m. October 31st. Frontline officers quickly blocked off entrances, including one near the skate bowl, and yellow police tape now surrounds the entire area.

The Explosive Disposal Unit has been called in

The RCMP say the package was found in an open section of the park and the Explosive Disposal Unit has been called in to assess the item.

The area will remain closed until further notice.

We have video showing a police cruiser blocking one of the entrances near the skate park and tape around the bowl and nearby seating areas.

Police are asking the public to stay clear of the parks skate bowel while the investigation continues.
