Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle Near Vernon Downtown Parkade

July 7 2026 - A pedestrian was injured Tuesday morning after reportedly being struck by a vehicle near an entrance to the Downtown Parkade at 31st Avenue and 33rd Street.

The incident was reported around 10:45 a.m. Emergency crews responded quickly, with two BC Ambulance units, Vernon Fire Rescue, and RCMP arriving on scene.

One person was transported to hospital by ambulance.

It remains unclear whether the pedestrian was inside the multi-level parking structure or on the sidewalk that crosses the entrances and exits.

Despite reports of a vehicle strike, no involved vehicle was immediately obvious at the scene.

The parkade building also houses the Vernon Public Art Gallery and the Bylaw Compliance office on the ground floor.
