Vernon Outback Resort Building Evacuated

October 19 2025 - Vernon Fire Rescue responded to reports of smoke coming from a room at the Outback Resort on the south end of Eastside Road Sunday afternoon.
Details are limited, but witnesses reported seeing smoke, and possibly sprinkler activation, shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday.
The incident appeared confined to a unit near the resort’s main entrance, just off Eastside Road.
Some occupants were evacuated as fire crews investigated. Firefighters were later seen carrying in smoke exhaust fans to help clear the affected area.
No cause has been released, and no injuries were reported.
The Outback Resort in Vernon is a luxury vacation destination on Okanagan Lake near Ellison Provincial Park, about 20 minutes out of Vernon, BC.
The property operates as a strata-titled hotel.
