May 8, 2026 - Vernon and the North Okanagan are gearing up for a vibrant spring weekend filled with family entertainment, live music, cultural celebrations, and plenty of Mother's Day cheer.

The big top is in town! The Europa Super Circus has set up at Polson Park with multiple shows across the weekend (including Saturday and Sunday afternoon/evening performances). Expect international acts, tight-wire walking, the Wheel of Death, and classic circus thrills for all ages.
Saturday highlights include the Japanese Food & Film Festival "Itadakimasu" (10am–3pm) and the Chinese Cultural Festival (12:30pm–5pm) at the Halina Centre, perfect for food, films, and cultural experiences.
Families can also catch Stories, Scribbles & Signing with The Mischief of Griff at Coles in Village Green Shopping Centre (12pm–3pm).
In the evening, head to the Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre for The HIP Experience (Tragically Hip tribute) or Sweet Reggae.
Plant lovers won't want to miss the Armstrong and District Garden Club Plant Sale starting at 8am.
Sunday is all about Mom with special brunches (like at Gray Monk Estate Winery) and relaxed activities. Don't miss the Okanagan Symphony presenting "Beethoven's Fifth" at 2pm at the Performing Arts Centre, while the Europa Super Circus continues its run.
Monday evening (if your weekend stretches) features ABRA Cadabra, an ABBA tribute show at the Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre, ideal for a fun Mother's Day wind-down.
The Mugs of May Art Show & Sale is also on throughout the month at the Vernon Community Arts Centre.
Have a great weekend in the North Okanagan!
