Lavington Brush Fire Contained

March 30, 2026 – Fire crews from Lavington and Coldstream responded to a brush fire Monday afternoon, a couple hundred metres south of Highway 6 between Buchanan and Learmouth roads.
The fire was highly visible to traffic traveling on the highway.
The call came in shortly before 5 PM. Firefighters quickly contained the slow-moving blaze, though mopping up took additional time.
No injuries or structural damage were reported. Authorities have not released a cause for the fire.
