Evacuation Alert Issued for Swede Creek Wildfire Near Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. June 3 2026 - An out-of-control wildfire in the Cariboo region has prompted an evacuation alert for nearby residents.
The Swede Creek Fire (C10467) was discovered on June 1, 2026, and has grown rapidly to 1,815 hectares.

As of June 3, the fire is located 3.8 km southwest of Comstock Lake and remains out of control, according to the BC Wildfire Service.
On Tuesday, June 2, the Cariboo Regional District issued an evacuation alert for 22 parcels in the Swede Creek Fire Area. Residents in the affected zone are advised to prepare for a possible evacuation order due to the potential threat to life and property.
